It's online here...in case you didn't see it yet. Very strong documentary about the financial crisis and why basically all of us should REDEFINE CRIME. No banker ended in prison for what directly or indirectly lead to millions of people really feeling the "crisis" we're in. Oh..or really..we're all responsible for this to happen right? Not so sure about this...The big Ponzi scheme called the financial crisis.

There's no change with the same people still in place.

So..being in Berlin for a couple of days not long ago made me feel like a teenager again, riding around on a bike taking pictures of graffiti, hunting it down almost...That was a LONG time ago I felt that urge... Amazing collection of Alvin Lustig covers. They have that destinctive abstract "50's/60's feel" like covers of Dick Bruna, work by Sandberg and Paul Rand amongst others but most of the covers were actually designed before 1950. Great stuff.

Cy Twombly

Just figured out Cy Twombly died not long ago. Just at a moment I really started to ( re-) appreciate his work...Rest in peace.

A nice article on his work and life here.

Each line he made, he said, was “the actual experience” of making the line, adding: “It does not illustrate. It is the sensation of its own realization.”

RAW COLOR

I really like the work of Eindhoven based studio Raw Color. It's both playfully experimental and thoroughly modernist, an interesting combination.



They also won a prize for their book designs for Onomatopee.



One of these books is a little gem of Erwin Tomasse's work, definitely a good read.
