2009

Stop making sense.

Just voted "artwork of the year 2008" by Nielzer of Trendbeheer;

"Zwischenzeit" by Mischa Leinkauf and Matthias Wermke

And I agree.

If you did not see it in 2008, do so in 2009. Or certainly any other work that comes from the hands of these guys in the new year. Grossartig.

wtf?

I know the economic situation is bad, but this bad? Getting people's attention with she-male spraypaint sales is some next level shit yo.

Evelien Lohbeck

I bumped into her work in the newspaper ( NRC ), not yet graduated and already prominent media-attention, it reminded me of how important that sort of attention has become nowadays. More important maybe than what it really is about. Good ideas, promising talent but just not as impressive as the article suggests...(the Dutch Michel Gondry?)

DIE IN A FIRE BANSKY YOU BASTARD

For a change. Somebody that does not seem to like Banksy (or Bansky):

CalicoatMaker (3 months ago)

Vandal. Go to hell. Tagging isnt art, its damaging to business. Theres 10000 assholes trying to be like you, and I'm tired of being fined $150 a day by the city for not being able to spend 4 hours a day removing this shit. I've had to layoff my ONLY two employees, and I still have to pay their UC. I have borrowed 100k for a small shop and every cent I've made in six months I have paid to graffiti removers, materials doing it myself, security cams and in fines. DIE IN A FIRE BANSKY YOU BASTARD

From youtube.

A room with a view.

Spotted in London.

3024 #04

Part of the artwork I did for our 4th release on 3024; 2 tracks by 2562.
And it is another great addition..."Embrace" and "Hijack", very different tracks but both really deep and atmospheric, well...both very 2562! I love it.
Audio here. Out soon!

Miami Art Basel drama

What was that all about? It seems as if suddenly all big names in both graff and streetart have become art-fair-artists. Clashes seem inevitable with so many people on the same turf...

TOUR DE VILLE LONDON #02

The fine people of Tour De Ville did a fantastic job (thanks to many people helping out) fixing their bikeshop. Go check it out, not just your average fluor fixie outlet, but some real nice classic stuff, frames, bikes, parts and a coffeebar. Oh. And some (nut-freezing)outside wall-decoration as well. Thanks Jos, Keith, Dalston, Tanya, Jeroen, Tom and Laura and all other nice people I met.

If you fart in London...

..it's world news.

(The kid that supposedly was sued by Damien Hirst. Who cares? Exactly. Everybody.)

OUCH!

Sao Paulo keeps impressing me...thinking about the point of getting up, going out in the cold getting your name up, toys, kings, fame, keeping it real...all of this gets a different meaning watching this.

Nice one.

JUICE magazine

Illustration for the cover of Germany's hiphop-magazine Juice, about Akon and T-pain, of whom I actually didn't know about haha. Sorry. After doing some research (and some more, ouch) I decided adding some photoshop-effects would fit their terrible "Auto-Tune" sound (yes,it's that sound-effect Cher used to helium-balloon her voice back in 1998), and which is apperently the latest thing in big-baller hiphop land. Well...what do I know about hiphop anyway?

PLAKBOEK Eindhoven (02)

SCRAPBOOK Eindhoven turned out really nice, the presentation was really good, thanks to all. Check the previews and go get yours!

woensdag 15 oktober 2008

PLAKBOEK Eindhoven

Also during the Dutch Design Week the presentation/release of

PLAKBOEK Eindhoven

(SCRAPBOOK Eindhoven)

Me, space3 and Crackrock were invited by the full-time busy Freek Lomme of yourspace to make a book on Eindhoven and it's street-related inteventions and illegal manual visual overload in public space.

It has become a 144-page book, it's an almost retrospective collection of imagery, from people like Baschz, Funest, Eton, Phet15, SOL-crew, Influenza and many more.
The timing is great since the past years almost everything in the Eindhoven streets has been neatly cleaned by an over-enthusiastic city-cleaning frenzy, wanting the streets to be more safe when clean, which is ofcourse a questionable way of achieving this...

Anyway.

Classic imagery of the highs and lows that the influential scene of the notorious lighttown in the south of the Netherlands created is neatly put together in book-form by space3, showing an impressive variety of work once visible or still visible in the streets of Eindhoven.

More information on ordering, a sneak-peek of the book or anything else go here.

THIS SATURDAY 18th OCTOBER @ 16.00 hrs THE BOOK-PRESENTATION WILL BE IN YOUR-SPACE, KANAALSTRAAT 8, EINDHOVEN (there will even be music and drinks jaja)

Ofcourse it's possible to visit the presentation during the Dutch Design Week and get yourself a copy from 19th until 26th October, daily 13:00-22:00, free admission at Kanaalstraat 8, Eindhoven.

The book will cost 20 euro.

Dutch Design Week (01)

Time again for Eindhoven's claim to fame in the form of the one (and only) week there is so much to do in Eindhoven, it's impossible to NOT miss something; the

-DUTCH DESIGN WEEK-

Yes yes.
Check the program, where to go and where definetely not to go etc. here.

From the 18th till the 26th of October.

AT least the unofficial start will be fun:

@ Stroomhuis, Eindje 1, Eindjegramma

The quick brown fox...

Thanks Eric
