Cy Twombly

Just figured out Cy Twombly died not long ago. Just at a moment I really started to ( re-) appreciate his work...Rest in peace.

A nice article on his work and life here.

Each line he made, he said, was “the actual experience” of making the line, adding: “It does not illustrate. It is the sensation of its own realization.”

RAW COLOR

I really like the work of Eindhoven based studio Raw Color. It's both playfully experimental and thoroughly modernist, an interesting combination.



They also won a prize for their book designs for Onomatopee.



One of these books is a little gem of Erwin Tomasse's work, definitely a good read.

MARTYN MASKS / VIPER

Me, Spielerei and Graphic Surgery just finished this 66m X 11m wall next to the tracks at Strijp-S in Eindhoven. It took some weeks, but we're pretty happy with the result. Some making-of pics here:
